After earning several academic and advanced degrees (Diploma in Piano, Composition, a cum laude degree in Musical Aesthetics from the University of Bologna, and studies at the Accademia Chigiana), Virginia Guastella has spent the past twenty years working as a composer, pianist, producer, and conductor across a variety of fields: contemporary music, crossover, opera/music theatre, improvisation, and soundtracks for both silent and sound films. On this occasion, she leads Icarus vs Muzak—at the invitation of the ensemble itself—for a monographic concert dedicated to her work.
