ECOLOGY, TERRITORY, AND YOUNG MUSICIANS IN ICARUS'S ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING

Attention to young musicians, a strong connection with the environment and the local area, and the involvement of new composers are the key features of the upcoming activities of Icarus, the musical group founded over thirty years ago and appreciated in Italy and Europe for its focus on the many forms of contemporary music.

"Icarus's artistic program for 2025," explains artistic director Marco Pedrazzini, "follows three main lines: on the one hand, promoting younger authors and performers, to provide an opening to the latest poetics and an opportunity to listen to the new generations. This context includes the concerts linked to the masterclasses by Pierluigi Billone, Daniela Terranova, and Francesco Filidei, and the launch of the Icarus Festival at the Chiostro dell'Ostello della Ghiara in Reggio Emilia: Sottosuoli, where the Muzak youth group under 35 is particularly involved.
