Sottosuolo Festival Muzak | Blow Up Percussion

The first edition of Sottosuolo debuts in Reggio Emilia, a festival dedicated to the promotion of new youth ensembles active in contemporary music. It will take place between the end of August and the beginning of September at the Chiostro della Ghiara, with a program focused on enhancing emerging creativity and offering visibility to young professionals.

At the center of the project is the ensemble Icarus vs Muzak, a group of musicians under 35, distinguished by its innovative approach to music production through the use of electronics, video, and sound experimentation.

The festival will also host various guest ensembles and formations, contributing to the creation of an artistic and cultural network based on sharing, dialogue, and the search for new musical languages. With its first edition, Sottosuolo aims to be an open space for innovation and collaboration, a creative laboratory looking towards the future of contemporary music and the growth of a new generation of performers and composers.
